Terms of service for NexusXchange waste collectors

Last updated October 2026. These terms apply to waste collectors and other parties participating on the NexusXchange platform across India. By registering as a waste collector or confirming a collection event, you agree to the obligations below.

Regulatory notice

E-waste activities in India are regulated, including by the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022 and subsequent amendments. The approval required depends on the activity and role. Confirm the rules applicable to your operation with CPCB/SPCB or an Indian environmental compliance adviser before handling e-waste.

Eligibility and CPCB authorisation

Before accepting or handling e-waste, you must hold every registration, authorisation, agreement and other approval required for the activities you actually perform under the current central and state rules. Requirements may differ for a collector, producer, refurbisher, recycler or an agent acting for one of them; verify your own status with the relevant regulator or legal adviser.
Submit accurate evidence of your applicable registration, authorisation or relationship during onboarding and keep it current. NexusXchange may verify it and may suspend collection activity while a required approval is missing or unclear.
Do not represent that a general CPCB authorisation applies to you unless it does. Notify NexusXchange promptly if an approval expires, is suspended or changes.

What waste collectors do

After a deal is completed (PIN 2 confirmed), certified shops are notified of leftover components available for e-waste collection. Waste collectors are matched to these shops based on proximity.
Collectors visit the certified shop, inspect the leftover components, pay the shop the admin-set fixed price for each component category, and take custody of the e-waste.
Collectors must not resell collected components as new, refurbished, or working parts on any platform. Collected e-waste must be processed, recycled, or disposed of in accordance with CPCB guidelines.

Fixed pricing

Component prices are set by NexusXchange Admin based on device category, brand tier, component type, and condition. These prices are visible to both the collector and the shop before any collection is confirmed.
There is no negotiation on fixed prices. Collectors must pay the exact admin-set price for each component accepted. Attempting to pay less than the stated price is grounds for account suspension.
NexusXchange may revise the fixed price table at any time. Updated prices apply to new collection events — prices agreed on active collection requests are honoured at the rate shown at the time of agreement.

Collection receipts and platform logging

Collectors must issue a collection receipt to the shop for every pickup. The receipt must include the collector business name, CPCB authorisation number, date of collection, list of components collected, and the total amount paid.
All collection events must be logged in the NexusXchange platform — including what was collected, from which shop, at what price, and the timestamp of collection. Logging is mandatory and must be completed before leaving the shop premises.
Failure to log a collection or issue a receipt may result in account suspension and forfeiture of the collection event.

Platform fee

NexusXchange charges a small platform fee, shown in your dashboard before you confirm. NexusXchange does not hold or handle the money you pay a shop for e-waste; you pay the shop directly at the admin-set price.
GST on the platform fee is absorbed by NexusXchange and will not be charged to the collector.
All other tax obligations arising from the collector business operations — including GST on their own transactions — are solely the collector responsibility.

GST and invoicing

Waste collectors must issue GST-compliant invoices for all transactions where applicable. The collector is responsible for confirming whether GST applies and using the correct classification, valuation, rate and invoice treatment for the activity and transaction date. NexusXchange does not provide tax advice; confirm the treatment with your chartered accountant or tax adviser.
NexusXchange is not responsible for the collector GST compliance. Collectors indemnify NexusXchange against any liability arising from their failure to comply with GST or other tax regulations.
Keep transaction records for the period required by the tax and environmental laws that apply to your business. Different records may have different retention periods; this term does not set a blanket seven-year period for all personal data.

Prohibited conduct

Collectors must not resell collected parts as working, refurbished, or new on any platform including NexusXchange, e-commerce marketplaces, or offline channels.
Collectors must not dump, illegally dispose of, or transfer e-waste to unauthorised handlers. All disposal must comply with the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022.
Collectors must not offer shops a price above or below the admin-set fixed price to gain preferential access to components.
Any attempt to collude with shops, sellers, or buyers to bypass the platform workflow will result in immediate permanent termination.

Disputes and liability

Report a collection discrepancy through the platform within 24 hours where possible so the parties can promptly check the records and condition of the materials. A late report may make platform review harder, but this operational target does not waive statutory or contractual rights or alter legal limitation periods.
NexusXchange may review platform logs, receipts and chat records and may facilitate communication. This does not make NexusXchange the decision-maker for statutory claims or a guarantor of either party's performance.
NexusXchange is not liable for environmental penalties, regulatory fines, or legal action arising from the collector handling or disposal of e-waste. The collector bears full legal responsibility for downstream processing.

Programme availability and changes

The waste-collector programme operates in supported locations across India. Pricing tables, coverage zones and collection workflows may change; updated terms will be posted on the platform.
NexusXchange may onboard or offboard waste collector partners based on geographic expansion, compliance records, or operational capacity.
Continued participation after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
